Middlenight Tea

“What keeps you going isn't some fine destination but just the road you're on, and the fact that you know how to drive. You keep your eyes open, you see this damned-to-hell world you got born into, and you ask yourself, ‘What life can I live that will let me breathe in & out and love somebody or something and not run off screaming into the woods?’”

-Barbara Kingsolver, Animal Dreams

A little lore…

Introductions often make me sweat. How do I tell you what you need to know in a few short paragraphs? Here is my attempt.

I respond to Vanessa or Mama or Friend or Love. I am in a sweet, neurospicy family unit in Austin, Texas. A Libra Sun, Virgo Moon and Scorpio Rising means I’m all about balance, life, death and getting things just so. I am a first daughter marinated in the unresolved trauma of my ancestors, alchemizing complex trauma into a language of belonging and tenderness.

I have spent much of my life trying to figure out where I belong. Plot twist, I belong everywhere. I am queer. I am a full spice rack of neurospicy. I am guided by and descend from Polish, Scottish, Slavic and indigenous peoples. Being colonized and being the colonizer are all within the past and current blend of my bloodline.

I have twenty years of experience in mental health and hope to blend my knowledge from that realm into this space.

Honoring land and harvesting ethically is essential to my relationship with herbs. Most of what I make is foraged from my backyard. I try to recycle and reuse what I can in medicine-making to decrease trash output.

I love making connections, hearing and telling stories, and working with the land. I hope you’ll join me.

A woman with tattoos and sunglasses leaning against a large tree with sprawling roots in a lush, green park.

"It's important to say what hope is not. it is not the belief that everything was, is, or will be fine... It's also not a sunny-everything-is-getting-better narrative, though it may be a counter to the everything-is-getting-worse narrative. You could call it an account of complexities and uncertainties, with openings.” -Rebecca Solnit
